WHYork Consulting offers a training program for inspectors who want to complete the 2-1-2012 version of the Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form (OIR- 1802).
Our class is approved for Continuing Education Credits by the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) for 7-CEUs for Contractors (Provider #0005055) and by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) for 7-PDH (Provider #0005125).

Please Note:
- Re-testing will be available at a subsequent class for a fee of $65.00. Only one re-test per student will be allowed without taking, and paying for, the entire class again.
- Exam available in Spanish.
- Inspectors receive a completion certificate.
- A master list of trained inspectors will be kept on file and will be made available on line for public use.
We also offer a 4 hour CE class for Insurance Agents and Customer Service Representatives (Provider #367824) that was just approved by DFS. The price for this class will be $100.00.

Company Background and Qualifications
William H. (Bill) York started WHYork Consulting Company in 2005 to provide Florida Building Code and wind mitigation training for contractors, architects, engineers and inspectors. Bill has a BS in Industrial Engineering and is a State Certified Building Contractor with more than 50 years
experience with commercial and single family home construction. He has 14 years experience with hurricane mitigation measures and retrofit projects.
For six years, Bill worked for Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) and managed their Wind Mitigation Inspection Program before "retiring" to spend full time on wind mitigation programs such as the My Safe Florida Home Program where he was responsible for the technical aspects of the inspection criteria, inspection checklist, inspector training program and resource manual.
Working with the University of Florida and the Institute for Business and Homes Safety (IBHS) Bill managed the retrofit work required for 40 homes participating in the Florida Coastal Monitoring Program. He worked with the University of Florida on several research projects for shutter testing and other damage reduction initiatives.
For five years Bill has been a trainer for the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) Blueprint for Safety Contractor Programs. He works with IBHS as a trainer for the Fortified…for Safer Living® inspector, contractor and designer program and helped develop the Fortified for Existing Home(TM) program.
